What is the political spectrum?

The political spectrum maps the different political ideologies on a linear scale.

The left side of the range represents more liberal or progressive beliefs. In contrast, the right side represents more conservative or reactionary beliefs.

This is an essential concept in understanding how people’s political opinions are shaped and how they can change over time.

The biggest misconception about the political spectrum is a direct linear scale from ‘extremely liberal’ to ‘extremely conservative,’ with everyone falling somewhere between those two extremes.

In reality, though, many different ideologies within each side have different degrees of difference.
